Whenever someone in my house gets sick I always make some homemade Chicken/Turkey Noodle Soup. It always warms us up and makes as feel a little better.
You will need:
-Salt
-pepper
-Desired kind of noodles
-Chicken or Turkey
-Carrots
-Corn
-Celery
-3 tbsp powdered chicken base(I use OXO brand)
Optional
-2 tbsp Cajun spice
-Peas
-Onions
~Fill a medium soup pot with water, sprinkle some salt in the water, then boil.
~Add chicken, boil water with chicken/turkey for 10-15 minutes.
~Add 2 tbsp chicken base, and your veggies, boil about 10 minutes.
~Then add your desired amount of noodles into your soup (I usually use a handful of Capelli noodles broken in three).
~Let boil until noodles are soft.
~Add in the last tbsp of chicken base, salt, pepper to taste.
Optional(~ Add in 2 tbsp Cajun spice, gives the soup a more "hot" kind of taste)
~Let boil last 10 minutes.
~Eat!

Hope everyone enjoys the soup and feels better.

Maple Glazed Turkey with Sage Butter.
-Finely chop fresh Sage and mix it in with a stick of butter
-pull up the skin of the turkey(careful, not to poke a hole)
-massage the butter mix under the skin right into the meat
-salt n' pepper the top of the turkey
-Place bacon across the breast
-foil and in the oven it goes
-350 degrees for 2 hours then you can start basting
-Maple syrup with 2 tbsp of hot water
-Continue basting every 30 to 45 minutes until turkey is done
-last 30 minutes uncover turkey so it can brown
Turkey actually turned out great. Lance was a little uncertain about it as it went in the oven, but was happy when it came out. I will be honest, I made Candied Yams and they did not turn out the way
I wanted them to. They where not thick enough at all. Still good everyone said but, I was not impressed. I will keep that recipe and play with it a bit until it works out and then I'll pass it along to you guys.
Next, potatoes!
Mashed Tatoes-peel desired amount of potatoes-boil until soft-mash with a potato masher-add butter-add milk-add salt n' pepper-throw in some Cilantro-couple squeezes of Italian dressingVery good potatoes with lots of flavor.A bit of salad dressing added to mashed potatoes always gives lots of favor and take two seconds too add at the end to any meal for any occasion. I also made Turnips. Now Lance said that I couldn't play with the turnips at all, he wanted your standard play Jane Turnips. Boil, mash, salt and pepper thats it(a little boring if you ask me).
Salads! We had a plain ol' garden salad and a cucumber n' onion salad.
Cucumber N' Onion Salad-peel cucumber and slice
-peel onion
-cut onion in half
-then slice
-mix in ranch dressingQuick, simple and delicious. My stuffing or dressing however you like to call it was made in the moment. I'd love to tell you all how I did it but, I honestly don't recall everything I put in there.
